How do I transfer pictures from my droid to my computer?

I have a droid. I plugged the cord into my PC. Then my phone said on top "USB connected" and I clicked it then I clicked "Turn on USB storage" How do I get my pictures from my phone, onto my computer? Nothing on my computer pops up and nothing on my phone pops up. No mount button or anything. Help please.
